Starlight is not your everyday tulle. This is heavy beaded and sequin mesh built for projects that demand maximum impact. Each square inch carries a dense arrangement of sequins and beads that catch light from every direction. When you lift a yard of Starlight, you feel the weight — and that weight translates directly to the way the fabric drapes, falls, and photographs under any lighting condition.
Seventeen colors at 59 inches wide. The beading and sequin placement is consistent across every roll, which means each cut piece matches perfectly with the next.
THREE PROJECTS DEMAND STARLIGHT
1) Couture bridal gowns. When a bride wants a dress that photographs as genuinely expensive, Starlight delivers. The combination of beads and sequins creates dimensional texture that flat embroidery cannot achieve. Layer it over a satin base for depth that reads as custom couture:
a) Full bodice overlays where the beading creates a focal point from the neckline down
b) Cathedral-length overskirts that transform a simple reception dress into an entrance piece
c) Detachable sleeves and capes that add ceremony drama and fold away when the bride is ready to dance
2) Red carpet and pageant gowns. Competitions require fabric that photographs under harsh flash and reads as luxury up close. Starlight's dense beading catches studio lights without the harsh glare that cheap sequins produce. The weight ensures the gown falls cleanly without wrinkles or bunching.
3) Statement evening wear. A Starlight pencil skirt, a beaded tulle top, or a full skirt overlay — even a small panel elevates the entire garment. Designers use this fabric strategically, placing it where the eye naturally lands.
SEWING HEAVY BEADED TULLE
This fabric demands preparation. Cut on a single layer with the bead side facing up. Remove beads and sequins from seam allowances using small sharp scissors — a snipped seam line prevents needle damage and protects your machine.
Use a denim needle (90/14 or 100/16) and strong polyester thread. The needle must pierce through dense beading, so go slow and let the machine work at its own pace. For seams against bare skin, finish edges with bias tape to prevent the mesh from scratching.
