Tulle "Clouds" is the softest tulle in our collection and the one designers reach for when they need volume without the crisp stiffness of standard mesh. The weave is finer and more open which creates that almost weightless hand feel that gives Clouds its name. It drapes in gentle folds instead of standing away from the body which makes it ideal for projects where you want volume that still moves with you.

Clouds tulle works beautifully layered over heavier fabrics where its softness adds a dreamy dimension that heavier tulle simply cannot achieve. Layer it over our silky satin for wedding gown skirts where the satin provides structure and the tulle adds an ethereal floating layer that catches light from every angle.

THREE WAYS CLOUDS TULLE CREATES MAGIC

1) Soft volume for gowns and skirts. Unlike stiffer tulle that creates dramatic bell shapes Clouds tulle builds gentle rounded volume that looks romantic instead of theatrical. This makes it perfect for:

a) Wedding gown skirts where the bride wants fullness without the princess ball gown silhouette

b) Bridesmaid dress layers where the tulle adds a soft edge to A-line cuts without overwhelming the wearer

c) Flower girl dresses where the lightweight tulle keeps the dress comfortable for young wearers through hours of ceremony and reception

2) Delicate overlay work. The soft hand of Clouds makes it the top choice for overlay panels on evening wear where the fabric needs to drape over curves instead of standing off the body. Layer Clouds over our power mesh bodices where the mesh provides the structure and the soft tulle creates the dreamy surface finish.

3) Photography backdrops and event styling. The way Clouds tulle diffuses light makes it a favorite for photographers who need soft backdrops for portrait sessions. Multiple layers of Clouds create depth and dimension that plain fabric cannot replicate and the lightweight nature means it can be draped from any ceiling without heavy rigging.

SEWING WITH SOFT TULLE

Clouds tulle is forgiving to work with because it does not shift on the cutting table like chiffon and does not fray at the edges. Cut on a single layer for best results. Use a 70/10 needle and standard polyester thread. The soft mesh does not hold permanent pin holes so you can pin inside the seam allowance without worry.

All our tulle is sold by the yard with no minimum. Shipped fast worldwide and every yard arrives rolled. Questions about layering or yardage for full gowns? We are here to help.
